Massage relaxes tired and overworked muscles, decreases stress signals from the nervous system, and increases circulation, rejuvenating both mind and body. For those interested, a hot towel can be placed on the back to sooth muscle tension. Face, scalp and foot massage can be added for a true head to toe massage. A more specific and detailed massage is available for those with overuse or injured areas such as neck or low back, bringing balance and relief. I am welcoming new clients for relaxation massage, oncology massage, pregnancy massage, Craniosacral Therapy, and Reiki.
Craniosacral Therapy, Reiki, and Mind Body Techniques can be included with Massage Therapy for the ultimate mind body connection.

Hot Stone Massage, where luxury and therapeutic benefits intertwine. The warmth of the stones melt stress away, creating a deep "Ahhhh!" feeling. Therapeutically speaking, it activates your relaxation response in your autonomic nervous system, increases blood flow, and decreases blood pressure. In addition, the heat of the stones softens fascia (connective tissue) and fascial adhesions allowing your muscles to move more freely.

Oncology Massage and Restorative Touch are for clients who are in or post active treatment for cancer.
OM offers touch when it is needed the most, providing physical and emotional support for the potential demands of treatment. The soothing touch of massage provides respite from fatigue and reduces pain. OM compliments medical treatment, assisting our body’s natural healing abilities.
For ncology patients dealing with fatigue, Restorative Touch can provide respite. Clothing remains on, and a light touch is used to alleviate tension and have restorative properties.
Craniosacral, Reiki, and Mind Body Techniques can be included with OM / Restorative Touch to enhance mind body connection.

An express 30-minute OM is perfect for those on their way to or from active treatment. For those with more energy, 30-minute OM can provide relief to areas of discomfort. For those dealing with fatigue, Restorative Touch can provide respite.

60-minute OM is a perfect length of time for taking a break from worries and demands of treatment. Drop into the present moment in a healing environment for a restorative and rejuvenating experience. If it is your first time receiving OM at Miody Wisdom, a 90-minute OM is suggested.

90-minute OM is perfect for first time clients and for those who are post treatment with ample energy. 90-minute OM can provide a deeper healing space to relax physically, mentally, and emotionally. For first time clients 90 minutes allows time to review medical history, go over perfect resting positions to ensure body alignment and cushioning are just right.

Pregnancy Massage is a nurturing touch for both mom and baby. With the growing demands on a mother's body during pregnancy, massage soothes tightened muscles and may ease swelling in the legs. By decreasing stress hormones, and increasing circulation, the health benefits are experienced by both mom and baby.
Postpartum Massage alleviates the physical and emotional stress of the many changes in a mother’s life. Postpartum massage can be a full body relaxation massage or a more tailored massage for areas of tension. A relaxed body quiets our minds and opens our hearts. This state of restfulness brings about more energy for tasks at hand and deepens our connection with those we love.

Craniosacral Therapy
Craniosacral Therapy was researched and developed by Dr. John Upledger at Michigan State University. Craniosacral Therapy is a light touch therapy which effectively communicates with the central nervous system by way of fascia (connective tissue). When adhesions in the fascia are unstuck through Craniosacral Therapy, the cerebral spinal fluid of the central nervous system flows better. The Mind Body Connection is felt as the body goes into deep relaxation. Clients often experience the "Zone" - not quite awake and not quite asleep. It is in this space where deep healing can take place. By releasing the fascia and relaxing the nervous system, the body can heal itself from the inside out.
Reiki & Mind Body Techniques can be blended in with Craniosacral Therapy for the ultimate mind body connection.

Reiki translated from Japanese means Universal Energy. During this treatment, hands are lightly placed on or above the body focusing Reiki on the main energy centers, as well as areas of specific pain or discomfort. By balancing these areas, Reiki encourages deep relaxation, creating coherence between heart, mind, and body, optimizing the body's natural healing process. Reiki has been shown to decrease pain, anxiety, and improves sleep. Because of its proven effectiveness, Corwell Health System offers Reiki training and provides Reiki Therapy for their patients.
